37th RSA Wisconsin Annual Conference
"The Quest for Success"
May 17-19, 2006

Kalahari Resort Water Park & Convention Center
Wisconsin Dells, WI

Register before March 31st for the Early Bird Specials!

This year the RSA Wisconsin conference focuses on preparing owners of assisted living agencies for the increased demands of the industry, and provides ample opportunity for all staff to obtain the 15 ongoing training hours and topics that BQA will soon be requiring. We’ve restructured our breakout sessions into the following categories:
    • Owner/Operator sessions
    • Leadership sessions
    • Client specific topics
    • Standard precautions
    • Medications
    • Resident rights
    • Prevention and reporting of abuse, neglect and misappropriation
    • Fire safety and emergency procedures
David Pitonyak will be our opening Keynote Speaker on Wednesday, and closing our retreat on Friday will be Kathleen Paris. Two new speakers for RSA Wisconsin with great reputations for educating and motivating everyone in the Assisted Living industry.  Some of the required training sessions will be repeated to allow every registrant the ability to attend the appropriate 15 training hours.

New this year we are holding a scavenger hunt over all three days of the conference. There will be daily prizes as well as the grand prize of an overnight stay at the Kalahari and $200 in spending money!

On Wednesday, May 17th, will not be having our regularly scheduled Boat Ride this year – instead, we have designed a special evening event for Owners of our member companies only. This Executives Only President/Sponsor Reception will be by special invite only, and the rest of the attendees will have a free/open evening in Wisconsin Dells.

We welcome Encore to our Conference this year as our Thursday evening entertainment. This professional theater company for people with disabilities will be performing a Murder Mystery Dinner for us during our awards presentation. You can read the complete description below.

As always…there will be plenty of  door prizes and other raffle items, as well as RSA Wisconsin logo items for sale. If you register online this year you can purchase these at that time, and they will be waiting for you at the registration desk.

Don't forget to sign up for scholarships and nominate your co-workers for awards by downloading the forms now, or signing up online by clicking here. This year the awards will be given out during our Thursday evening event over dinner rather than during the busy day of breakout sessions over lunch.

Please join us in 2006 for our excellent educational programs, to obtain valuable information from our ever expanding vendor fair, and once again…enjoy Wisconsin Dells!

One day the world will be a perfect place...
...strategies for the meantime!

David Pitonyak

Many of us dream about a perfect service system that fulfills all of its promises - a service system full of hope and green lights and creativity. Many of us dream about living our lives with good health and integrity - lives where we really do have the time for the people we love and the activities that matter most. One day the world will be perfect...but what do we do in the meantime? - A workshop about living with intention in an imperfect world.

Closing Keynote Session
Friday, May 19th, 2006

Kathleen Paris

Consultant, Distinguished, Emeritus
Office of Quality Improvement, UW-Madison

Really Practical Tools for Making Changes Quickly

Kathleen Paris

Of all the quality improvement tools and approaches, only a handful are used most frequently. You will be happy to know that the most-used tools are also the simplest ones. In this session, Kathleen A. Paris, PhD, Consultant, Distinguished, Emeritus from the Office of Quality Improvement at the University of Wisconsin Madison will share the “favorites”, and introduce us to Accelerated Improvement, a way to improve any process quickly--in two meetings! Think about a process in your work setting that is “causing you pain”, and start improving it at this session.
